Overview

Cyclone Nargis was the most destructive cyclone in Myanmar's history. The storm surge devastated Myanmar's Irrawaddy Delta. While not directly hitting India, it demonstrated the catastrophic potential of cyclones when warning systems and evacuation infrastructure are inadequate.
